To meet the objectives, Project Piaba needs fund for research and development. We have gained substantial and moral supports from many individuals and organizations. The
Dr. Herbert R. Axelrod Foundation and
TFH Publications (USA) have supported the Project since 1992. Many aquarium fish enthusiasts have supported the project through eco-tourism and raised funds from local hobbyist clubs. We need $2,000/month to maintain the
Center of Ornamental Fish
Study, and the environmental education and community programs in Barcelos. We seek individual and industry partnerships, please join us to conserve the Amazon fish and rivers, and to improve riverine people's subsistence.
We have set up a charity organization in the US,
Bio-Amazonia Conservation
International, and a sister organization in Brazil,
FundaAoRio Negro de Desenvolvimento
Sustentaveis, to provide support to the
Project Piaba and other local projects.
