Project Piaba is a community based interdisciplinary project which
has been established to understand the ecological and socio-cultural
systems of the middle Rio Negro, located in the basin of
Amazonas,
Brazil. Our objective is to conserve and maintain the live ornamental
fisheries and other renewable resources at a commercially feasible,
and ecologically sustainable level.
